Man who killed ex-wife and her father sentenced to life without parole


RED BLUFF, Calif. - John Noonkester, 35, was sentenced to life without parole on Thursday, after being found guilty of killing his ex-wife and her father in 2015.

The Tehama County man faced two charges of first-degree murder. Deputies said he shot and killed his ex-wife, Kimberlee Thomas, 29, and her father, Keith Thomas, 53, outside of the Little Country Store in Lake California, following an argument on July 3, 2015.

Noonkester was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and one count of assault and special allegations for use of a firearm and for multiple murders.

In total, Noonkester was given four counts of 25 to life and 14 years and life without parole.

According to our reporter in the courtroom, Noonkester had an outburst during sentencing and was placed in an enclosed viewing area for the remainder of the sentencing.
