Red Bluff Police Department K-9 gets new body armor vest
RED BLUFF, Calif. —
One of Red Bluff Police Department's K-9's, Aries, has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a charitable donation from the non-profit organization, Vested Interest in K-9's Inc.
The vest was sponsored by an anonymous sponsor and is embroidered with the sentiment, "Born to love - Trained to service - Local always".
Vested Interest in K-9's is a charity located in Massachusetts and their mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States.
The non-profit was established in 2009 to assist law enforcement agencies with this potentially lifesaving body armor for their four-legged K-9 officer. Since its inception, Vested Interest in K-9's Inc. provided over 2,700 protective vests in 50 states through private and corporate donations, at a cost of over $2.3 million.
