Suspect crashes into home after police chase

CORNING, Calif. - A Tehama County man was arrested in Corning after police said he tried to drive away from a traffic stop and crashed into a home.

Robert "Bobby" Perozzi, 37 of Corning was arrested for felony evading, resisting arrest and violation of post release community supervision.

Corning police said officers tried to pull over Perozzi for speeding just after 4 a.m. Tuesday.

The pursuit started around Columbia Avenue and Viola Avenue. The chase reached speeds of 90 miles per hour. Police said Perozzi failed to stop at several intersections.

The chase ended when Perozzi crashed his car into a home on First Street. Perozzi ran from the scene and after a short foot pursuit he was located and arrested. He is on active post release community supervision (PRCS). Perozzi also had an active arrest warrant.
