RED BLUFF, Calif. - Three people were sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to two murders in Tehama County this week.

A deadly shooting that took place on July 9, 2014, outside Crossroads Market at Gyle Road and Highway 99W south of Gerber, left Walter Dani, 24, of Red Bluff dead. He died from a shot to the head.

Gabino Madera, Lucio Madera, and Poly Sanchez were arrested for Dani's murder.

While in prison, law enforcement connected another case with several of the Dani-murder suspects.

According to officials, Glenn County deputies responded to an orchard in Hamilton City for the report of a burned body on May 24, 2014. The body was identified as Marat Magdeev, 21, of Chico.

Investigators were later able to connect Sanchez and Gabino to Magdeev's death.

Three years later, the trio was sentenced to jail after pleading guilty. Sanchez and Gabino received 35 years to life for first-degree murder while Lucio received 22 years since he was charged with voluntary manslaughter and not murder.
