4.5 earthquake strikes off coast of Petrolia (USGS)

A magnitude 4.5 earthquake shook 18 miles west of the coast near Petrolia Thursday night, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The quake hit at 10:01 p.m. on March 8, at a depth of 8.2 miles.

According to the USGS website, 187 people reported feeling the quake to the agency.

There are no tsunami warnings, advisories, watches or threats in place as a result of this earthquake, according to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
