Friday, October 6th Forecast: Another cool start but warming up this afternoon
FIRE WEATHER WATCH
It will be another cold start to your Friday but warming up later in the day with sunny skies and calm winds.
We have been talking about warmer weather all week and it will finally arrive today with highs in the upper 80's and low 90's in the valley and between 65 and 70 on the Coast. Today will be the peak before we start to see a drop in our temperatures through the weekend.
A trough of low pressure now over the Gulf of Alaska will slide to our north and east this weekend bringing some cooler air with it but also gusty north winds. This will increase our fire danger once again.
The National Weather Service is bringing light to this fire danger by issuing a Fire Weather Watch for most of Northern California for Sunday morning through Monday night. This watch will most likely be upgraded to a Red Flag Warning sometime this weekend.
The winds are expected to die down on Tuesday of next week and our fire danger will drop significantly. Mostly sunny skies and mild temperatures can be expected through all of next week.
