Minimum 30-Year-Sentence For Convicted Child Molester

REDDING, Calif. - A Redding man will serve 30 years to life in prison for molesting 2 children under the age of 10.

29-year-old Shawn Merle Gustafson is accused of orally copulating an 8, and 6-year-old boy.

The investigation started in May 2012 after the mother of the 8-year-old boy contacted the Redding Police Department.

Further investigation of several family members revealed the molestation of the 6-year-old boy.

Today Gustafson entered no contest pleas to two counts of Penal Code section 288.7(b). Both counts carry a sentence of 15 years to life.
