Weather Forecast: Widespread rain returns to the Northcoast Wednesday
Eureka, Arcata& Crescent City - After one of the driest Decembers on record, widespread rain returns Wednesday.
Most of the Northcoast will remain dry through Wednesday afternoon. Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies throughout the day but afternoon highs will still remain above normal.
A low pressure system will move in from out of the southwest over the next 36 hours. This is why areas to the south and southwest will see rain first Wednesday.
Snow levels will remain very high Wednesday through Friday evening and above pass levels.
A secondary low pressure system will arrive Thursday evening, bringing more rain through Friday.
Colder air finally arrives by early Saturday morning but most of the moisture will have exited, limiting the impact of snow down to or below 5,000 ft.
