REDDING, Calif. — If you're looking to give a furry friend a forever home and help out families in need this spring you're in luck.
Haven Humane Society in Redding is partnering with KRCR for the annual Stuff the Bus Food Drive on May 11.
They are offering a pet adoption discount to those who donate non-perishable food to help out the Salvation Army.
The goal for Stuff the Bus is to fill two buses with food for the Salvation Army.
In addition, Haven Humane is having a Pet Fest where all adoption fees are paid in full. Haven Humane Society C.E.O. Mark Storrey explained that for those who are looking to adopt can take a pet home for free.
"All adoptions on May 5th from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. will be free," Storrey said. "So we're asking people to please bring in a non-perishable human food so we can help out the community at the same time and we also ask the people who want to come in and adopt May 5th to please come in before that and get preapproved with the application."
