Kona Ice teams up with Stuff the Bus; Free ice at live event

REDDING, Calif. - KRCR News Channel 7 needs your help to feed families in need this summer. Between now and May 19 you can drop off any nonperishable food donations benefiting the Salvation Army at several red barrel locations throughout the Northstate.

One of the many men and women behind the community support this year is Kurt Garnero the owner of Kona Ice of Redding.

This is the second year Garnero has teamed up with Stuff the Bus, collecting donations during the live event in Redding and giving away free shaved ice.

Garnero said as a small business owner it's his way of giving back to the community he loves.

"Even though last year it was raining on the event, that bus was stuffed full. I'd never been to it before it's a good thing to see the community coming together. Honestly it makes me want to fill my Kona Ice truck up with cans and bring it down as well," said Garnero.
