The names of the victim and suspect has been released.

According to officials, Brandon Smith, 27, was arrested on two counts of boating under the influence and one count of involuntary manslaughter.

The person who died in the crash was identified as Drew Gerken, 27.

One person was killed in a boating accident on Lake Oroville Sunday evening.

According to Butte Cal Fire, the incident happened at 6:27 p.m. in the area of the West Branch Bridge.

Emergency crews discovered a single boat had struck the shore. There were a total of six people involved.

The one person who was killed was found about 40 feet under the surface of the water. One victim was flown by helicopter to Enloe Medical Center. Four patients were taken to the hospital by ground ambulance. The names of the victims were not immediately released

An official with state parks said more information would be released Monday morning.
