Police look for suspect in Chico gas station armed robbery


Update as of 7:15 a.m. Friday, December 7:

Police described the suspect as a white or Hispanic man, between 5-foot-9 and 5-foot-11 inches, with an average build.

According to officers, the suspect was wearing a ski mask and gloves and was armed with a handgun.

Original story written on Thursday, December 6:

The Chico Police Department confirmed an armed robbery happened tonight around 9:30, at Food Express #2, at the Beacon gas station, located at 2049 Fair St.

The nearby evacuation shelter at the Silver Dollar Fairgrounds was put on lock-down, for a short time.

The suspect got away on foot, with an undisclosed amount of cash and is still at large, tonight.

Nobody was hurt.
