Cal Fire PIO: Numerous structures destroyed, several civilians injured in Camp Fire
According to Cal Fire PIO John Gaddie, the Camp Fire has burned approximately 8,000 acres since it started around 6:30 a.m. Thursday in Butte County.
"This fire is very dangerous, it's a critical rate of spread, it's spotting ahead of itself, it's creating its own type dynamic and it's going to hurt people and we've seen that happen," said Gaddie.
Gaddie said numerous structures have been destroyed and they do have several civilian injuries. While he did not know where all the destroyed structures were at, he said he does know of some in the Concow area that have been destroyed.
"Not only is the wind playing a role but the fire is creating it's own weather. Right now the fire, unfortunately, is moving through the town of Paradise. It is moving kind of in a west, south west direction," added Gaddie.
The whole town of Paradise has been evacuated as well as Concow. Gaddie said Magalia is under an evacuation warning.
Gaddie said, "We couldn't get people out quickly enough". "This is a very scary, dangerous fire".
