Cal Water released a statement Friday reassuring Chico and Oroville residents that their water is safe to drink.

After the Camp Fire, Cal Water said they were receiving several calls asking about the water quality and they said that despite the do-not-drink advisories in neighboring communities, Chico and Oroville water was not impacted.

"Protecting our customers' health and safety is our highest priority, and beyond the assurance that this devastating fire did not touch our local infrastructure, we also have a robust water quality monitoring program that confirms the water continues to meet all federal and state standards," said Cal Water District Manager George Barber.
