Chico fire douses early morning apartment fire

The Chico Fire Department responded to an apartment complex fire on Nord Avenue Sunday morning.

According to officials, fire crews responded around 5 a.m to 346 Nord Avenue. Residents were evacuated and Nord Avenue was shut down between Stewart and W 1st Street.

As a result of the fire, two occupants were displaced as dozens of apartment units were saved. Those who lived in the undamaged units have been allowed to return home.

No one was injured in the fire and the cause is still under investigation.

Nord Ave. was reopened around 7:30 a.m.
