Chico man arrested for double homicide in Humboldt County

According to Chico Police, a suspect connected to two suspicious deaths in the Ettersburg Junction area of Humboldt County was arrested in Chico on Monday.

24-year-old Ulisses Rodriguez of Chico was arrested by Chico police at about 7:25 am on Monday, following a traffic stop near the intersection of Esplanade and East Eaton Road.

Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Butte County Jail on a no bail warrant for two counts of homicide in relation to the Humboldt County deaths, criminal threats and exhibiting a firearm.

The two victims, a 31-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man, are pending positive identification through DNA analysis. The identities of the two victims have not been released at this time in the interest of protecting the integrity of the investigation.

Rodriguez will be transported to the Humboldt County Correctional Facility for prosecution. The Humboldt County Sheriff's office would like to thank the Chico Police Department for their assistance in apprehending Rodriguez.
