Chico man pleads guilty to filming child sexual abuse

In federal court on Friday, a Chico man pleaded guilty to filming sexual abuse of a child.

According to court documents, Nathan Alexander Drury, 39, of Chico, filmed a 47-second video of a nude child who was under the age of 12 between 2012 and 2014. In the video a child was being sexually abused.

This case is the product of an investigation by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Chico Police Department.

Drury has been in custody since he was arrested on March 23, 2015.

Drury is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge Garland E. Burrell Jr. on April 6, 2018. Drury faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years in prison. The maximum statutory penalty is 30 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
