Chico police made an arrest on Tuesday after an investigation revealed a Chico man had allegedly sent inappropriate and harmful material to young girls using the Snapchat app.

The investigation into the matter began in early October and Chico police discovered that girls ages 12 to 17 had received sexually-explicit messages and photos to their social media accounts from the same person.

Kellen Cullpepper, 22, of Chico, was identified as a suspect in the investigation and Chico police reported that at that time they obtained an arrest warrant and a search warrant for his home.

The warrants were served Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. and Cullpepper was arrested without incident.

He was transported to the Butte County Jail and booked for several felony charges including sending harmful matter to a minor, communications with a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense and attempt to contact a minor with the intent to commit a sexual offense.

27 different victims have been discovered through the investigation, all of whom were contacted through Snapchat.
