Chico State students warned of 3 armed robberies, suspect still at large

The Chico Police Department said it has little to go on in tracking down the suspect in three separate armed robberies in the last three months on the Chico State campus.

The most recent happened Wednesday at approximately 6:30 p.m at the B-Line bus stop on campus at Legion and Warner Avenues. This was the second time this area was hit. A third robbery happened in the parking lot at nearby Nettleton Stadium.

Cell phones were stolen in two of the three robberies.

The university advised students to travel in groups, be aware of their surroundings and keep electronic devices tucked away so no one can see them.

"It's crazy," said one student. "It's not exactly safe to roam around in the evening."

The suspect in all three robberies is a black man in his mid 20's seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and riding a black bicycle.

Besides no further details on the suspect's description police add that there are no surveillance cameras in the area.
