Stuff the Bus adopting a furry friend at Haven Humane

Haven Humane is offering a way for those with unwrapped toys to walk away with a furry friend to take home

If you're thinking about adopting a furry friend, well this may be your chance at Haven Humane Society in Redding with the Stuff the Bus event happening on Friday, December 7.

Haven Humane is offering a way for those with unwrapped toys to walk away with a furry friend to take home. CEO of Haven Humane Mark Storrey said if people bring in an unwrapped toy for stuff the bus, they can adopt a cat or dog for $25.

Storrey said every year they have a 'Home for the Holiday' special and he said this year, their goal is to put 200 animals in homes from November 1 to December 31.

He said Haven Humane has a full house with pets looking for a home and all people have to do is bring in an unwrapped toy, fill out the adoption application and pay the $25 fee.

"All the toys that are donated stays locally which is one of the really cool things about Stuff the Bus. So, if people bring in an unwrapped toy right now, they can adopt a dog or cat for $25. That still includes spay, neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and all that stuff. It's a win-win!" said Storrey. "We can put some animals home for the holidays, we can help out some of our local kids that aren't otherwise going to get something with some toys and make it a happy holiday for them as well."

Storrey said the $25 adoption fee will go through the end of the month but encourages folks to bring in a toy for the KRCR News Channel 7 Stuff the Bus event that's coming up Friday, December 7.
