PARADISE, Calif. — The Town of Paradise Animal Control is continuing efforts to reunite residents with pets lost during the Camp Fire as well as offer free pet food to people living in Paradise.
According to the shelter, the free pet food can be picked up at 920 American Way from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
Officials said the effort to locate and reunite residents with their pets is ongoing and they are committed to working with animal advocacy organizations who are also working on the reunification effort.
To help keep the reunification effort centralized, the Town of Paradise Animal Control is asking that people wanting to help to coordinate their efforts with the shelter and that animals that are found be brought to the shelter so they can be scanned for a microchip.
Officials added that before rescues are done on private property, all efforts should be made to contact the property owners to get their permission to be on the property.
The shelter said they are open for service at its location in Paradise, 925 American Way, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.
