REDDING, Calif. — 'Tis the season for giving and that's just what we're doing.
In December, KRCR and the Salvation Army broke a record packing two buses full of gifts for the first time in Redding "Stuff the Bus" history.
As of Thursday, nearly 10,000 toys were successfully collected in Shasta County with more still coming in.
On top of all that, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, the Salvation Army hosted a special party for 45 Carr Fire families. Each family received gifts, passes to Turtle Bay, movie tickets and Oasis Fun Center vouchers for Christmas.
But, the giving goes far beyond the Shasta County border.
Vivian Say, one of the volunteers at the party, collected 1,765 Christmas stockings from two countries and 18 states across the nation.
