Early returns show possible shakeup on Redding council

Early voter returns indicate that longtime Redding City Council Member Francie Sullivan may have lost her seat on the council.

Nearly 28,000 votes have been cast in the race, and the leaders as it stands are Erin Resner with 24 percent of the vote, Michael Dacquisto with 24 percent and incumbent Kristen Schreder with 19 percent.

Schreder and Sullivan were the targets of a failed recall earlier this year.

The early numbers are coming from mail-in ballots only, elections officials expect to be counting ballots well into Tuesday night and possibly early Wednesday morning.
