Bomb threats lock down Siskiyou Co. schools

The Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office announced that numerous schools in the Scott Valley and Tulelake districts are on lockdown following a bomb threat.

According to officials, those districts received an email containing the threat. The sheriff’s office noted that they have learned other schools state-wide have also received a similar email.

Lieutenant Jeremiah LaRue with the sheriff's office, said that while there is no imminent or credible threat, deputies have been sent to each school and security checks are being put into place.

Tulelake and Scott Valley schools have been placed on lockdown per school policy. Each school will be following lockdown procedure and making effort to contact parents and guardians.
