CONCOW, Calif. — Investigators in Butte County are currently searching for a suspect involved in a shooting incident in Concow.
On Saturday, April 4, the Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) received a report of a shooting victim on Big Bend Road in Concow.
Deputies responded and contacted the victim who had been shot. BCSO says the victim was transported by helicopter to a local hospital where they underwent surgery. The victim is currently in stable condition, according to BCSO.
Investigators spoke with witnesses and determined Sean Franco, 42, of Concow, was the shooter.
BCSO says Franco lived at a home next to where the shooting happened. They set up a perimeter around Franco’s home, obtained an arrest warrant for Franco, and obtained a search warrant for Franco’s home.
On Saturday afternoon, BCSO SWAT served the search warrant. Inside the home, they found evidence related to the shooting and a large marijuana grow.
BCSO says Franco was not home when they served the search warrant and believe he fled the area on foot at some point after the shooting.
BCSO deputies and detectives are actively looking for Franco.
Officials say Franco has a warrant for felony assault with a firearm, and for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition.
This investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are anticipated. BCSO is asking anyone with additional information to contact Detective Brian Mollath at (530)538-7671.
