Investigators said a cow caused a semi-truck to crash into an oncoming car on Interstate 5, leaving a Cottonwood man with major injuries.

The collision happened around 8:30 p.m. Sunday on Interstate 5 near Flores Avenue south of Red Bluff.

The CHP said a semi truck was southbound when it hit a cow that was standing in the road. The semi careened across the median, hitting a car that was driving northbound..

The driver of the car, 45-year-old Trenton Morriseau of Cottonwood, suffered major injuries
