Oroville, CALIF. — California's Department of Water Resources (DWR) has provided an update on the release rate from the Oroville Dam.
The agency, which began releasing water from the dam on Friday, says they have slightly increased the release rate from 8,000 cubic feet per second to 8,500 cubic feet per second in order to protect downstream communities from flooding.
The DWR went on to note that the total release to Feather River amounts to roughly 15,000 cubic feet per second, but that number could change as wet weather continues through the region.
