REDDING, Calif. — Multiple homes have been destroyed in the area to the northeast of Redding as the Fawn Fire explodes in size in Shasta County.

Numerous evacuation orders and warnings have been issued due to the Fawn Fire, which has burned more than 1,200 acres and is only 5% contained.
AREAS UNDER MANDATORY EVACUATION ORDERS
The Fawn Fire is spotting near Bear Mountain Road where flames are actively burning near homes. Fire crews are aggressively attacking the fire from the air and on the ground in the area.
An evacuation shelter has been set up at the First Church of the Nazarene located at 2225 Bechelli Lane in Redding.
