REDDING, Calif. — The Freedom Festival, Redding's Fourth of July celebration and fireworks show is once again set to take over the Redding Civic Auditorium lawn this Independence Day.
According to the City of Redding, the event will feature live music, food and family fun.
Attendees are encouraged to arrive early and bring blankets and lawn chairs.
The event starts at 6 p.m. with announcements and food concessions. The live music will start at 6:15 p.m. with Dusy Foster followed by California Country from 8:15 p.m. to 9:45 p.m.
Fireworks will start at 10 p.m. The fireworks music will be simulcast by Results Radio Q97 and Red103.1.
The Sundial Bridge closes at 9:00 p.m. and will remain closed until cleared by the Fire Marshal.
Highway 44 off-ramps to the Civic Auditorium will be closed when the lots are full and will not re-open until after the fireworks display concludes and pedestrians are cleared.
