Grandmother, 2 grandchildren escape Cottonwood house fire

COTTONWOOD, Calif. — The Cottonwood Fire Protection District says a family home in Cottonwood was mostly destroyed Tuesday night in a fire.

Fire crews received the call just after 10:00 p.m. of a fully involved structure fire in the 19,000 Block of Fullerton Way.

The district says a grandmother and her two grandchildren were able to escape the flames uninjured.

Crews were on the scene knocking down the flames and mopping up for about three hours, and say the home is mostly lost.
