OROVILLE, Calif. — Lake Oroville is almost full heading into Memorial Day Weekend.
The lake clocked in at 894 feet on Thursday, the highest it’s been in years, according to Lake officials. As of Thursday, the lake is only six feet below max capacity.
Staff at Bidwell Canyon Marina are expecting a large number of visitors and boaters over the weekend to soak up the sun and get out on the water.
The Northstate’s News spoke to the operations manager on Thursday to see how much of an increase in business the marina is expecting.
“A lot. Absolutely, a lot,” said Kao Satern, who has been the operations manager for 12 years. “Be safe out here. All the boaters that come out here obviously want to have fun, but, at the same time, be safe."
Saetern said the marina gets at least 200 boaters a day this time of year, and they expect lake levels to get slightly higher in the next couple of days.
