CHICO, Calif. — A crash on Highway 99 sent two people to the hospital Thursday morning-- one with major injuries.
The crash was reported around 11 a.m. on Highway 99 near Hamilton Nord Cana Highway.
A driver heading southbound rear-ended another car, according to the California Highway Patrol.
One of the passengers in the car that was hit suffered a broken bone and was taken to Enloe Medical Center for treatment.
The driver of the other vehicle -- who suffered minor injuries in the form of cuts and bruises -- was also taken to the hospital for treatment.
The CHP says that speed appears to be a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
The collision didn't significantly impact traffic and the scene was cleared by the early afternoon hours.
