Man shot, killed near apartment complex in Glenn County

A man was shot and killed near an apartment complex in Willows.

28-year-old Daves Fernandez died in the hospital after being shot Saturday night. Deputies found him lying in the roadway on North Humboldt Street with a gunshot wound near the Cedar Hills Apartment Complex.

People living in the area say they heard one gunshot and saw people running from the scene.

First responders treated Fernandez before taking him to the hospital where he died.

A short time later, a 17-year-old male suffering from a stab wound was admitted to Glenn Medical Center.

It's unclear if the reported stabbing and shooting are related.

The Glenn County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting death as murder.
