The Dahles are trying to keep it all in the family.
Two weeks ago, Brian Dahle was elected to the state senate, creating a vacancy in the assembly.
On Tuesday, his wife, Megan Dahle, declared her intention to run for her husband's now vacant seat.
She shared the news with her church in Bieber on Sunday, but today she went public.
I asked her, why?
"For the last seven years I've traveled the district and I understand the issues and the needs and the challenges here. I was raised here, we're raising out children here, and I'm excited for the opportunity to be partnered with my husband in the senate, and pulling in the same direction. We're people who truly understand how important representation is in Sacramento, from the north state." said Dahle.
Megan tells me she has held office before on the school board in Lassen County.
Shasta County clerk Cathy Darling Allen told me, even though Brian has already been sworn in, the senate race hasn't been certified yet.
As soon as that happens, the governor should call for the assembly race.
