REDDING, Calif. — Authorities are currently investigating a burglary that occurred at a JCPenney after the back entrance glass door was smashed in, according to Redding Police.
The incident took place overnight, and officials reported that the burglary alarm was triggered around midnight.
Police say upon arriving at the scene, law enforcement discovered the damaged door and a knife lying on the floor. In an attempt to apprehend the suspect, the police utilized a K-9 officer to track down the perpetrator. However, by the time they arrived, the suspect had escaped.
The store, known for its large size, posed challenges in determining whether anything was stolen during the break-in, according to Redding Police. As of now, it remains unclear if any items were taken.
