Redding woman will be Europe-bound thanks to "The Price is Right"
REDDING, Calif. —
Redding's Bailey O'Callaghan was able to unveil a big secret after Tuesday morning's airing of 'The Price is Right' TV show.
Tuesday night the O'Callaghans, along with close friends, celebrated with a viewing party to watch the episode, which was taped in front of a live audience in February.
"It's such an adrenaline rush," said O'Callaghan. "Even if you don't win, being on there is so much fun."
25-year-old former Chico Dutch Bros barista and current Build.com sales representative, Bailey O'Callaghan said she competed against 325 individuals in Hollywood and she was one of eight chosen to participate in the show.
"That's what's so mind blowing is you don't know what they're looking for until you get into the show," O'Callaghan pondered whether it was her eccentric personality or luck that got her on 'The Price is Right.'
O'Callaghan said she could not have made it without her biggest support system, her mother and father, Christy and John O'Callaghan. The admiration they have for their daughter is mutual.
"If somebody was going to be picked, what a better person to represent Redding and the group, Bailey, because it was exciting," emphasized John O'Callaghan.
O'Callaghan won trips for two to Paris and Rome, two Vespa scooters, which she plans on riding around town, two laptops and her favorite, a sea kayak.
"It's clear, it's a two-seater. Someone else can do the rowing for me. I'm stoked."
O'Callaghan added she doesn't own a passport and this will be her first time out of the country. She has not decided who she'll take with her to Europe just yet.
