Officials will be out monitoring hot spots after a series of fires broke out between Chico and Paradise Thursday.

According to Cal Fire, there were a total of nine fires that spanned a total of 8.7 acres.

An agreement has been signed between the Department of Agriculture and the Department of the Interior in an effort to prevent wildfires.

3. Governor Brown to announce state budget propsal

California Governor Jerry Brown will reveal his final budget proposal Friday.

There was a $6.1 billion surplus in the previous proposal, and a decision was made to save all but $300 million of it.

4. Tehama stabbing suspect sentenced

A convicted killer has been sentenced to 15 years to life.

Jesse Jacobo was convicted for the April 2017 death of Harvey McGlothin, 39, in Red Bluff.
