TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. — A fire ignited around 2 a.m. at the old Specialized Fibers Facility in Corning Wednesday.
Around 2 a.m. Tehama Cal Fire responded to a large trash pile burning at the old recycling plant near the intersection of Kirkwood Road and South Avenue.
As of 2:50 a.m. Tehama Cal Fire tweeted saying that the trash pile was about 40' by 50' in size. Tehama County Fire, Red Bluff and Corning City Fire Department responded to assist as well.
The Tehama-Glenn Cal Fire Unit also said that this is not the first time that the old Specialized Fibers facility has had a trash pile on fire. In 2018, they had a similar trash pile on fire as well.
Personnel said they would remain at scene for several hours extinguishing the pile. No injuries or other damage were reported, officials said.
