Trinity County announces new available grants for small businesses

Trinity County is awarding grants to small businesses that have been impacted by the Coronavirus and is inviting qualified small business owners to apply. The county will provide grants of up to $25,000 for businesses with 6 to 20 employees, and up to $10,000 for businesses that employ between 1 and 5 people.

To qualify, the small business must meet a list of criteria, including the following:

  • The business must have been in operation prior to March 2020
  • Must be a brick and mortar company
  • Must be located in a commercial or industrial space
  • Be able to prove it was negatively affected by COVID-19

Funds may be used to cover pandemic-related business losses as a result of expenses incurred between April 1, 2020 and December 31, 2021. These expenses can include:

  • Rent/mortgage payments
  • Utilities (electric, gas, water, internet, telephone, etc.)
  • Operating capital and equipment
  • Furniture, fixtures, and equipment
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) and other COVID-19 related costs
