Two arrested after Siskiyou Co. home invasion, holding victim at gunpoint

Two people were arrested Monday after officials say they broke into a home and held the resident at gunpoint while they robbed him.

According to the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office, at about 10:20 a.m. Monday, a deputy responded to the 12000 block of Homeland Road, in MacDoel, in response to a report of a home invasion robbery.

The deputy said according to the victim, he was allegedly held against his will and robbed at gunpoint in his home by two men.

The CHP responded to the call to help and an investigation was conducted.

Officials were able to identify two people of interest and later that evening, based on follow-up investigation, Blake Hampton Lybrand Day, 38, from Dorris, and Steven Craig Shilling, 38, from Dorris, were arrested for armed robbery, criminal threats, and assault with a deadly weapon.

The two men were arrested in the City of Dorris at a Pine Street address.

The victim was treated at the Butte Valley Health Clinic and later, at Sky Lake Hospital in Klamath Falls, Oregon.

Officials said this incident remains under investigation and anyone with information is urged to contact the Siskiyou County Sheriff's Office at 530-841-2900.
