Woman reported missing found dead in Northern California
CHESTER, Calif. (News 4 & Fox 11) —
A woman who was reported missing after her abandoned vehicle was found in Northern California has now been found dead.
Janet Dreesman was reported missing March 12, 2018, after her car was found unoccupied in the Warner Valley area north of Chester, according to the Plumas County Sheriff's Office.
After a search around her vehicle, Dreesman was not located a missing person report was initiated.
Plumas County Sheriff's officials say the area where her vehicle was located had several feet of snow and was accessible only by snowmobile.
The Plumas County Search and Rescue team searched the area several times, but Dreesman was never located.
On March 31, 2018, search and rescue team members found Dreesman dead in the Warner Valley, according to the Plumas County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's officials say there is nothing suspicious about her death but the cause has not yet been determined. They say this case is still under investigation.
