Suspect from Cottonwood party video released from jail
One of two men arrested during a party in Cottonwood on Saturday was set to appear in court for his arraignment on Wednesday. But, that never happened.
The is because Gattica had already been released from jail by the time it was expected to start.
Both Gattica's Aunt and the Shasta County Court Bailiff explained that he had been given another date to appear in court and was released from the Shasta County Jail.
At the jail we asked if Gattica had posted bail but employees there said he had not.
Gattica is part of an ongoing investigation into the incident by the Shasta County Sheriff's Office. As well as a public controversy over the way deputies handled the arrests.
In several videos posted by party goers Gattica can be seen being detained by the deputies.
The Shasta County Sheriff's Office said he was arrested after acting aggressively, threatening deputies, and encouraging others to do the same.
The Shasta County District Attorney's Office said Gattica does have a separate case coming up for felony DUI on November 16 and they may address the new charges at that time.
