ANDERSON, Calif. — A former teacher at Anderson New Technology High School was arrested Wednesday following allegations that he was having an inappropriate relationship with a student, according to the Anderson Police Department.
According to police, Daniel Schafer, 35, of Redding, was arrested after the Anderson Union High School district forwarded the allegations to law enforcement. Redding Police Department investigators and the Shasta County District Attorney's office helped in the investigation.
Superintendent Tim Azevedo said the school district investigated the allegations as much as they could and then passed it along to the Anderson Police Department. Schafer resigned Friday after the allegations surfaced.
