Burglary suspect nabbed on 30-foot stack of lumber
ANDERSON, Calif. —
A burglary suspect was arrested in Anderson late Monday night after deputies say they found him hiding on a 30-foot stack of lumber.
The suspect, Christopher Smith, 40, faces charges of burglary and possession of a controlled substance. Investigators believe he may be linked to previous burglaries.
Shasta County deputies responded to the burglary alarm just before 11:00 p.m. Monday at Siskiyou Forest Products on Highway 273 in Anderson. Deputies said a K-9 helped find Smith lying on his stomach on top of a tall stack of lumber.
Deputies said he had meth and stolen power tools.
A search of his truck reportedly revealed stolen property from a previous break-in at Siskiyou Forest Products, and two previous burglaries in Redding.
