City of Redding taking action on more affordable housing
REDDING, Calif. —
The City of Redding is taking action on more affordable housing in Redding and hopes to get the approval by the city council to push it forward to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The City of Redding Action Draft Plan was prepared by the City of Redding Housing Division.
The draft describes what the city wants to do during the next year with the types of housing for the homeless, non-homeless and special needs.
Some of their goals include housing rehabilitation with a 120-household housing unit.
The housing rehabilitation would serve both rental and owned units for eligible households including senior and emergency repair programs.
The city also intends to dedicate funding from different sources to support homeless prevention activities.
According to the draft, they're working with a handful of affordable housing developers to establish funding and other resources for many affordable housing proposals.
The plan will be discussed at Tuesday, June 18. Redding's City Council meeting at 6 p.m.
