Masonic Fire: 100 percent contained, all evacuations lifted

Update as of 10:00 p.m.:

According to the Redding Fire Department, the Masonic Fire is now 100 percent contained.

All roads have been reopened, all evacuations have been lifted, and all power has been restored including to those in the Barbara Road neighborhood.

Redding fire crews will be on scene throughout the night mopping up.

Update as of 6:25 p.m.

The Masonic Fire is 60 percent contained, according to the Redding Fire Department.

Update as of 5:54 p.m.

All evacuations from the Masonic Fire have been lifted, according to the Redding Fire Department.

The fire has been declared 100 percent contained.

Fire Crews will be working throughout the evening mopping up and watching for spot fires.

Update as of 4:57 p.m.

According to the Redding Police Department, Benton Drive has reopened to through traffic.

Barbara Road remains closed. All evacuations remain in effect.

Update as of 4:08 p.m.

The civilian who was burned and transported to Mercy Hospital was a transient man, according to the Redding Fire Department.

The origin of the fire has been found to be in a known transient camp in the open space at the end of Masonic Avenue.

The fire is currently under investigation. Fire crews will remain at the scene throughout the day and night.

Update as of 2:50 p.m.

The Redding Fire Department has reported that they have "shaky containment" on the Masonic Fire.

The fire has grown to 38 acres. Evacuations remain in place.

Benton Drive remains closed. Crews will be on scene for multiple hours mopping up.

Update as of 1:30 p.m.

The Masonic Fire is reported to have begun at 10:08 a.m. on Sunday.

North and South Market Streets have been reopened, Benton Drive still remains closed.

Update as of 1:00 p.m.

According to Redding Fire, forward progress on the Masonic Fire has been stopped as of 12:30 p.m.

Cal Fire crews at the scene say one structure on Barbara Road has been severely damaged, with fire burning in the attic and the back of the home.

The fire has burned 30 acres or more.

Update as of 11:56 a.m.

One structure has been confirmed as fully involved due to the Masonic Fire.

The fire is now 30 acres with no reported containment.

Forward spread has been slowed. There is one civilian burn victim being treated at Mercy Hospital.

There are spot fires being reported on Benton Drive. Fire crews anticipate a significant commitment time to the fire.

Update as of 10:59 a.m.

There are evacuation orders in place from the Redding Police Department for Barbara Road, Pearl Street, Nancy Court, neighborhoods north of Benton Drive to Lake Boulevard and west of Market Street.

The vegetation fire has spread to a structure on Barbara Road, and has burned about 20 acres so far.

There are road closures at the following locations: Quartz Hill Road at Lake Boulevard, Benton Drive at Quartz Hill Road and Masonic Avenue at Lake Boulevard.

Motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

According to SHASCOM, there is a vegetation fire burning on the corner of Masonic Avenue and Lake Boulevard in Redding.

The fire was reported at 10:08 Sunday morning, and is spreading at a high rate of spread.

There are possible road closures, avoid the area if possible.
