Silver Fire fully contained at 76 acres

According to Cal Fire, the Silver Fire burning near Palo Cedro is fully contained.

The fire started September 28 at 2:44 pm on Oak Run Rd. and Little Ridge Rd. It burned 76 acres. One structure was destroyed.

According to Cal Fire, the Silver Fire is now 95 percent contained.

The fire has burned 76 acres and destroyed one structure.

Forward spread on the Silver Fire has stopped.

According to Shasta County Cal Fire, the Silver Fire is 90 percent contained and has burned 76 acres.

All evacuations remain lifted.

Update as of 11:20 p.m. Friday, September 28

All evacuation orders have been lifted, and residents are allowed to return to their homes.

Cal-Fire, the CHP and the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office have reopened all roads due to the Silver Fire, including Oak Run Road and all side roads, in the affected area.

The evacuation center located at Foothill High School is closed.

Fire crews will continue to mop up in the area overnight.

Cal Fire says the Silver Fire has burned 32 acres and is 70% contained.

Update as of 5:20 p.m. Friday, September 28

According to the Shasta County Sheriff's office, a Silver Fire evacuation center has been set up at the Foothill High School small gym.

The gym is located on the Foothill High School campus at 9733 Deschutes Road in Palo Cedro, across from the tennis courts.

Cal Fire has confirmed via Twitter that the Silver Fire has now burned 25 acres and is 25 percent contained.

All previously issued evacuations are still in place. Forward progress on the Silver Fire has stopped.

According to Cal Fire, firefighters are responding to two fires in the area of Oak Run Road and Little Ridge Road in Oak Run. Officials said one fire is 15 acres and are unsure of the size of the other.

Mandatory evacuations are in place for Shel Max Road, Teri Rand Lane, Rim Rock Lane, Beaver Road, Racoon Way, and Eagle Ridge Road. Officials said roads off of those roads are also being evacuated.

The U.S. Forest Service said they are assisting Cal Fire on the fire which is being called the Silver Fire.
