South Redding structure fire extinguished Sunday morning

The fire has been confirmed out by Cal Fire.

The fire started around 10:30 a.m. and firefighters say the structure was fully-involved when they arrived on scene.

An uncooperative person was found inside the home and they have been detained. No further details were given about what they were detained for or if they will face charges related to the fire.

Cal Fire said they will be on scene for two to three hours mopping up and Turtle Lane will be blocked off until they finish.

The house suffered extensive damage but it is still standing. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Shasta County Cal Fire has confirmed a fully-involved structure fire began burning Sunday morning in the 6500 block of Turtle Lane near the cross-section of Airport Road and Churn Creek Road in south Redding.

No roads have been confirmed closed because of this incident.
