Johnson park man charged with attempted murder pleads no contest

Shasta County District Attorney

A man accused of shooting a man in a Johnson Park trailer park in January of this year pleaded no contest in court on Monday.

On January 16, Randall Landsem, 50, reportedly was angry at Richard Lewis, 28, because he thought Lewis had stolen from him.

The Shasta County District Attorney's Office, said that Landsem had gotten drunk, tracked down Lewis and then shot him in the upper body. He was arrested later that day by Shasta County Sheriff's deputies.

The DA's office noted that Landsem is eligible for a parole hearing after serving seven years in state prison.
