Deputies investigating man shot in chest with arrow
REDDING, Calif. - According to Shasta County Sheriff's deputies, a man was taken to Mercy Medical Center Friday morning after being shot in the chest with an arrow on a property on Alee Lane in Redding.
It happened in the 11000 block of Alee Lane around 7:45 a.m. The same property where a fatal fire took place just a few weeks ago.
When our reporter arrived on scene, deputies had their weapons drawn, searching the property.
Sgt. Caleb MacGregor with the Shasta County Sheriff's Office said the man, identified as John David Barrett, 46, from Redding, was found in a trailer on the property suffering from a wound to his upper torso, which was reportedly caused when he was shot with an arrow.
Sgt. MacGregor said they searched the property and were continuing to investigate the incident by speaking with people in the area. He added they were still working to identify the suspect.
A nearby neighbor told our reporter that the presence of law enforcement on that property is not unusual and that the property is well known to everybody who lives on Alee Lane.
